As part of The Gwen’s Artist in Residence program, Erika Vazzana presents Who Is She?, a collection inspired by the hotel’s iconic muse, Gwen Lux. Drawing from Lux’s strength, artistry, and connection to Chicago’s Art Deco heritage, the work explores identity, perspective, and presence. Influenced by the city’s architecture and energy, each piece balances strength and softness—inviting viewers to interpret who “she” is through their own lens.

Meet the Artist

Erika Vazzana is a Chicago-based visual artist and owner of The End Design, with over two decades of experience creating custom artwork, murals, and live painting experiences. Her work blends realism with expressive, painterly elements—often layering bold color, texture, and subtle shimmer to create pieces that feel both structured and alive.

Erika’s career includes collaborations with brands and organizations such as Marc Jacobs, where she created custom hand-painted pet portraits on luxury handbags, as well as partnerships with Lurie Children’s Hospital and public art initiatives across Chicago. Whether painting on canvas, walls, or luxury goods, her work is rooted in connection—creating moments that feel personal, engaging, and visually striking.
