Concierge Bio

“I’m an ordinary guy doing extraordinary things for a living”A native South Chicagoan, Ramon Gomez possess a genuine curiosity for people’s stories, which translates perfectly to his role as our chief concierge.

Ramon has decades of experience in guest service, having most recently spent 12 years as the W Chicago Lakeshore’s lead concierge before joining The Gwen team in 2017.

Hearing people’s journey, learning their likes and dislikes, and customizing experiences that they can’t get anywhere else in the city is what makes him an integral part of The Gwen team, and the driving force behind our service ethos.

Being a concierge, you must have a thirst to discover and a yearning to learn. You also need an arsenal of inside connections that enable you to snag those notoriously difficult reservations for your guests. Whether it’s a table for four on a Friday at 7:30 p.m. at Schwa (speaking of difficult reservations and one of his personal favorites) or behind-the-scenes look at one of the city’s cultural gems, Ramon will always customize the best experiences for his guests.

Over the years Ramon has immersed himself in various charitable endeavors, including running for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Man/Woman of the Year and Step Up for Lurie Children’s Hospital. Additionally, he has been nominated for the Illinois and Hotel Lodging Association’s “Stars of the Industry” award and currently serves as a special concierge advisor to Concierge Preferred.
